Takayasu Nishioka who is the second generation of the Eiryuji studio applies the glaze over the surface of the cup, then chisels off into lines.

By using the technique he creates the effect resembling water drips on the cup, hence “shizuku” = water drips in Japanese.

The technique was mastered from his time of apprenticeship in Kutatni, a pottery town in the north of Kyoto during his twenties.
