“Blue and White – Mingei x Contemporary” 

Winter is here.  tabi Arts are all about “blue and white”.  Many of you might know this colour combination had been made well-known during the 13th century in Chinese Jingdezhen province.  It is unmistakably classic.  Now the end of the year is coming close, I officially admit that this is my colour scheme of winter 2025/26.

This winter, I have had a few events so far including Yokimono Christmas Japanese Market at the Factory in Dalston, there my focus has been on some classics from Tobe designs including ‘balloon flowers” and “karakusa” and bowls/cups in “krawanka” shape, which was invented during the Edo period, as well as some contemporary works by the members of  Tobe Collective.
